在上一場對灰狼的比賽中， Klay Thomopson 和 Jaden McDaniels 發生衝突， Green 在混亂中對 Gobert 做出鎖喉動作，隨後 3 人被驅逐出場。 NBA 官方發言人表示，禁賽場次數是基於對格林「過去曾有過的非體育競技動作」而進行判定的。

根據先前報導， Green 被禁賽的場次不會支薪，所以他將會在這 5 場禁賽中損失 769970 美元。至於 Klay Thomopson 、 Gobert 和 Jaden McDaniels 三人則被罰款 2.5 萬美元。
對此， Gobert 自然是相當不滿，他表示：「當時我 就是上去化解衝突的，當我被攻擊的時候我選擇舉起雙手。我被處罰，這很可恥的。太可恥了。我會就此一罰款判決提出上訴。」

Gobert 在這次衝突事件中的確表現的很冷靜，對於被 Green 勒頸，他沒有暴力回擊，而是等待裁判判決。也無怪乎遭到罰款時，他本人會如此驚訝。

做昨天受訪時，他強調 Green 是真的想要和自己兌子，自己當時就只能高舉雙手，向裁判表明沒有要升級衝突的意思。
