布蘭妮最終接受道歉。同時，TMZ被告知，他還說，當他掌摑她時，他不知道她是誰。不過在雙方進行短暫交流過後，布蘭妮的團隊向當地警方報警，聲稱遭到毆打。
Wembanyama 今日接受采訪時表示，他起初不清楚涉及的當事人是大名鼎鼎的布蘭妮，「我以為這沒什麼大不了的，然後馬刺的保安告訴我這是布蘭妮。我想：『你在開玩笑吧？』但是，是的，真的是布蘭妮。我從沒看到過她的臉。我就一直往前走。」
