SNY 記者 Ian Begley 指出，這位 27 歲的球員將缺席 2023-24 賽季剩餘的比賽，一樣是因為下背部傷病問題，Simmons將探索治療方案，希望能在 2024-25 賽季回歸。
Simmons 自 2 月 27 日籃網擊敗曼菲斯灰熊隊的比賽以來就沒有參加過比賽，本季總共出賽 15 場。在這些比賽中，他場均得到 6.1 分 7.9 籃板 5.7 助攻。

因為背部受傷 Simmons 從 11 月 6 日一直缺席到 1 月 29 日，上賽季他也只為籃網隊打了 42 場比賽，自 2018-19 賽季以來，他的出場次數從未超過 58 場。
