「我還有什麼沒做到？」 Durant 日前在接受《亞利桑那共和報》訪問時這樣說道，「為什麼我不該參與其中？這就是你應該問的問題。為什麼不呢？我還有什麼沒做到？」
作為 13 次全明星球員和 4 屆得分王， Durant 認為讓自己在輿論上被貶低的一個原因是當年加入了勇士，他也對此耿耿於懷。不過按照 Green 的說法，其實原因不是這個。

嘴綠表示， Durant 已經是非常傑出的運動員「 KD 得分的方式，籃球對他來說太輕鬆了，他就沒出手過困難的投籃，就是那種 14 投能拿到 31 分的球員，這就是 KD 日常。」

但他卻還沒有達到偉大層級，因為他並未做到獨自帶領一支球隊奪冠，「 Steph 直到 2022 年都沒得到今日所擁有的認可，直到他帶領那支勇士拿到總冠軍，並贏下 FMVP 。當陷入絕境時，他卻告訴我們：『來吧，兄弟們，我們繼續努力。』你必須得做到當時他做到的事情，才能進入史上最佳討論的範圍。」
