下半場開打之後，鵜鶘在 Brandon Ingram 帶領下，一度領先到多達 25 分，籃網屋漏偏逢連夜雨， Simmons 在剩下 9 分 01 秒時犯滿畢業，球隊也失去了反擊的士氣。
萬眾矚目之下， Simmons 今天發揮的十分糟糕，攻防兩端節奏盡失，由於犯規麻煩，他表現的機會並不多，總計 3 投 2 中僅 4 分進帳，另有 5 助攻 5 籃板。
賽後受訪時 Simmons 坦言自己心情上太亢奮，因此未能打出該有的內容，總教練 Steve Nash 沒有過多苛責，但 Kevin Durant 就比較直接的表示自己和 Simmons 都沒有打好，必須要在下一場開始之前盡快修正。
