在此役比賽的一個回合中， Embiid 嘗試封蓋尼克隊在內線的投籃，結果自己摔倒在地， OG Anunoby 搶下進攻籃板，將球傳給中鋒 Mitchell Robinson ，後者正要完成上籃，這時 Embiid 突然抓住 Robinson 的腳，粗暴將其毀掉。

這一動作讓外界譁然，因此這可能會造成 Robinson 受傷 ，考慮到他的體重，這樣失去重心的跌倒動作是可怕的，這一點 Embiid 自己應該最清楚。因此尼克球員也相當不滿，準備上前和他理論。

不過 Embiid 這一場的發揮也確實夠出色，外線手感極佳，多次頂人強投三分球，尼克隊完全守不住他，也幫助 76 人在主場扳回一城，拿下重要的一場勝利。
單場 50 分是 Embiid 生涯季後賽新高得分，而他對上尼克砍下超過 45 分，也是自 1996 年的 Michael Jordan 之後又一位可以達到此成就的球員。
